Japanese Acupuncture is a style of acupuncture originating from Japan that uses the smallest needle gauges on the market and various moxibustion (mugwort) techniques. Treatments are as comfortable as possible while still giving patients results in all sorts of health issues.
Some areas of treatment are:
Sports Medicine Acupuncture:
Lindsey has received training from Matt Callison, L.Ac., an expert in Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMA) in San Diego, CA, who has been treating many types of injuries and sports complaints for over forty years. (Training also includes dissecting and needling cadavers. As odd as this seems to say, it is mentioned here because a lot of acupuncturists never get this kind of hands-on training!) She can also help patients with at-home exercises and stretches to rehab injuries.
Sports medicine acupuncture can re-balance the body to be more effective in sport/gym activities. This is done by evaluating the body’s structures/muscles and finding where areas are out-of-balance or not working as effectively as can be.
Types of injuries/sports complaints Lindsey has treated:
Tuina (Chinese Medical Message) in also used in treatments. Tuina is similar to deep tissue massage. It can be done separately or in combination with acupuncture treatments to give greater treatment success. Lindsey has a thorough massage protocol that treats full body/re-balances the structures. It is great for treating sports injuries or day-to-day muscle and joint problems.
Facial Rejuvenating Acupuncture (aka: cosmetic acupuncture):
(Called Mei Rong in Chinese.) This is one of the best alternatives for invasive Western medical procedures used to enhance beauty and slow aging on the face! It was used in ancient China to keep the elites (emperor, queen, concubines, politicians) “youthful”. It is for pampering the face/body and helping to reverse signs of aging on the face and neck naturally!
It can re-balance muscles in the face that are causing 1.) wrinkles/fine lines or 2.) tighten the skin causing jaw/eye sagging. Treatments can also help: 3.) regulate melanin (which is the cause of pigmentation or "aging" spots), 4.) decrease skin inflammation (that can cause rosacea, acne, skin allergies, Lupus “butterfly rash”) and 5.) regulate the blood and lymph circulation of the face to make the face look healthier and “glowing”/revitalized.
Today, it can also help with TMJ, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and paralysis of facial muscles (seen with post-stroke and Bells’ Palsy).
Sessions can include: 1.) full body and facial acupuncture, 2.) other Asian modalities (jade roller, facial cupping guasha/aka soup spoon massage), 3.) tuina massage on face/neck/arms and legs, and 4.) Chinese herbal products.
Treatments are offered in 1 Hr, 90 min, or 2 Hr sessions. Best results are seen over a course of treatments (usually 10-15).
