Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used forms of medicine in the world. Originating in China (then expanded to other Asian countries) more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available anywhere.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, your overall health is determined by the quality of the Qi (energy) flow through the natural pathways of your body (meridians). Acupuncture uses a variety of techniques, including placing very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body, to stimulate and improve your Qi flow. The many benefits of acupuncture include: pain reduction, stress and tension relief, better digestion and immune system function, and an overall better sense of health and wellbeing.
Lindsey is trained in Japanese acupuncture, a style that uses smaller gauge acupuncture needles to be as painless and comfortable as possible while still giving you great results. Did you know: acupuncture in Japan was originally the profession of the blind? Because of this, this style of acupuncture uses different diagnostic tools and different techniques than those from China.
Lindsey is also trained in Sports Medicine acupuncture. Using motor points as well as regular acupuncture theory, she can address sports injuries, rebalance structures of the body, and release tight muscles (what many are used to calling "dry needling").
An alternative to Western medical procedures to enhance the face, this sub-type of acupuncture helps slow aging naturally. It ca: lift sagging areas (eyes, jaw), improve skin pigmentations (aging spots), reduce fine lines and wrinkles, help rosacea and acne, improve muscle balance, and regulate the blood flow and lymphatic systems of the face.
Tui Na is an ancient form of bodywork that is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Similar to deep tissue, it can be done separately or in combination with acupuncture sessions (and combination treatments of 90 min or 2 hours is available at my office). I have a thorough tuina protocol that is great for treating sports injuries or day-to-day muscle and joint problems.
90 min or 2 hour sessions combining acupuncture and tuina. Highly recommended and very thorough. Get both a massage and acupuncture session together without having to go to two separate professionals!
Essential oils are added to a tuina session, using Young Living Raindrop Therapy techniques to relax muscles along the spine, regulate the lymphatic system, and aid the body in healing itself.
Chinese herbal medicine is a 2,000 year old tradition using naturally occurring substances — including herbs — to enhance one's health and vitality. As opposed to Western medicine, the foundation of this approach is to support the body's natural self-healing mechanisms and abilities.
Since each patient has different needs, Lindsey carefully selects or combines a variety of herbs that will synergistically blend together to achieve optimal results for your unique situation. She prescribes high-quality, professional-grade herbal medicines that are available only to qualified licensed professionals. Usually she prescribes herbs in pill, powder, or tincture form, though raw herbs are available at her office.
